maayong aga sa inyo tanan!! wow i just cant believe how fast this time has just flown. i honestly never thought this day would actually come hahah. its been probably the most emotional week of my whole life. but i am just so so thankful. i cant describe how much i have absolutely loved my time here in the Philippines and how important this country became to me.  it was the happiest ending ever with a baptism of the Calata family and of Vernice Esloyo! And the elders had 3 as well, so there were 8 people baptized into Kabankalan on Saturday! Probably one of the most special days of my whole life. Seeing them file into the font one after another was just something that I will never forget. And hearing them testify of the truthfulness of the gospel right afterwards was so special. We went to visit the Calata family last night, and their dad just teared up and thanked us over and over again for changing generations of families. He said his grandkids and his great grandkids will a...

Maayong aga!!   Wow today starts my last week in the field as a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints! I can't even believe how fast the time has gone. I still feel like I just got here. But I am just so thankful. I had the opportunity to bear my testimony at zone conference this week and share some of the things that I've learned on my mission. While reflecting, I was able to realize how much I have changed and how much closer I am to my Savior right now. I think serving a mission was the absolute best decision I could have ever made in my whole life.   and I will still be able to email next week! I will be up in the mission office and will have time as well to email. So you'll hear from me one more time :) But this week was really great. me and sister l'heureux are just having so much fun and im so grateful she is my last companion!! We decided to go a little big and get some fine dining for lunch this week. except then we checke...

Maayong agaaa!! Kamusta kamo?  wow what a week!! its been a good one. SO fast. time just keeps ticking. ive been really good at pretending like i have all the time in the world left, but the past couple days its been sinking in that i only have a little bit more time with these special people! i just love them and seriously think i could be a missionary forever and never get tired of it. theres nowhere else id rather be. i just wanna live up these last couple weeks and use every second!!   the highlight was definitely that Nay Gemma and Gina got baptized on saturday!! oh it was just so special. they both just got up and testified about the truthfulness of the messages we've been sharing to them and cried and cried as they made sacred covenants with our Heavenly Father. just the happiest day ever. we're so excited for them. and their entire family came to church on sunday! the rest of them are preparing for baptism in december.  i love being a missionary!...

Hes 82 years old and basically the coolest man ever. we met him a few weeks ago on the street. he asked us if we believe in the book of mormon and we said we do! we believe in the new testament and old testament and we have one more testament about Jesus Christ! And he told us that he found a book of mormon on a tricycle 30 years ago and has been reading it ever since!! he has never met the missionaries, never been to church, but just found this book and has read it multiple times and researched it historically and knows that it is a true record of ancient people in America. we were just kinda shocked hahaha cause like talk about golden. but he has now been to churc...

hey pals!! wow what a week!!  first off, this morning we went to the beach!!! we found out theres a beach in our area and woke up and went and took some picnic blankets and ate breakfast on the beach. i love living on an island but its been a whirwind of a week with a lot more crazy typhoons and your 2 fav girlys dripping wet and shivering in macdonalds a few nights. ended up climbing a tree to get out of a flood hahaha. and then we had 4 extra sisters come stay in our house with us a few nights while they found a new house so we ended up with 8 people here a couple nights. it was way fun but we all ran out of food tryna feed them all so we've been starvin the past few days hahaha. its been an exciting week. but HAPPY HALLOWEEN!! yayayy wooo   but what a week of miracles!! seriously we feel SO blessed over here. last monday we went to go visit the Calata family and follow up with them about how church was!! Maayong aga sa tanan!! wow hi everyone!! its been a crazy week!! i got to work in Kabankalan Ward 1 (my last area) for a few days this week and then i got to go up to bacolod on thursday to pick up my new companion!!! her name is sister L'Heureux! pronounced "laroo." hahah its been so funny this week to watch all these cute little filipinos try and pronounce her name. shes from pennsylvania and way cute. we're already way good friends over here.  theres been a few fun things that happened this week!!  there was a typhoon on sunday! it was crazy the rain was wayyy strong. in the Philippines the belief is that if you go out in the rain without something to cover your head, you'll get a fever. but me and sister L'Heureux forgot our umbrellas and had an appointment we had to get to, so we just kinda took off running in the pouring rain and im pretty sure the entire town of kabankalan thought we were insane hahaha.  we had a really cool experience th...

I don't think I will ever forget yesterday. Everyone here just cheered and clapped and cried and it was the most special thing ever. I am SO excited for all the people that I love here. last night this one family threw an entire celebration because of it. it was seriously such a special day. lots of good things happened this week.  -we had zone conference so we went up to binalbagan for a day and listened to talks and messages and found out that sisters can now witness baptisms!! so i witnessed my first baptism the next day hahaha. creating history over here  -im learning how to filipino squat. we're teaching this one family and everytime we go they check my progress to see how im doing. a lot of people don't have chairs so they all just do filipino squats. look it up. im getting good at it  -m...
