Sarah's Mission to Bacolod Philippines

maayong agaaa woo tapos na ang isa pa ka semana!! dasig gid  its been a good week! done with week 1 of the transfer!  the highlights- -saw a huge snake get run over in the road. it was big and blue and green and probably poisonous and all sorts of fun things -a baby chicken hopped in my lap and sat there for a whole 30 min lesson.  -focused on finding this week! we found 44 new people to teach! I'm way excited for them and we've already seen miracles cause of it!!   But there were a couple really cool experiences this week too. At church on sunday a woman was speaking and she said (in ilonggo) "My life is not perfect and I have trials, but I am happy because of this gospel." And i realized thats totally the point of this whole mission thing. Teaching about Christ is not gonna make anybodys life suddenly become free of trials and hardships, but it helps us to be happy anyways. Thats what I love about this gospel. We always have a reason to be happ...

maayong aga sa inyo what a WEEK. its been wild. we took a surprise 2 day trip to bacolod, went to binalbagan another day, and spent 8 hours at the church on sunday!! its been so BUSY -this week sister regacho lost her wisdom!! shes wisdom tooth free!! it was an adventure. they dont put you asleep here either. so i think it was pretty rough. but we ate ice cream and yogurt and oatmeal all week and had fun times -had zone conf on friday!! went to binalbagan!! our district was asked to give a musical number. lets just say it started out really well, and then the elders joined in and it went downhill rapidly and ended with only like 3 of us singing cause everyone else was dying laughing. so ya know. dont know if we'll be invited to sing again hahahah -saw our pal tatay Mede and there was something odd in his ear so i looked closer and turns out it was a piso. i asked him why he had a piso in his ear and he told us that thats where God puts the blessings. in his ear. found ou...

HAPPY FATHERS DAY TO ALL THE FATHERS OUT THERE AND  HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY MOM!!! woo!! go celebrate the johnson parents they're awesome.  what a crazy week its been. we had MLC this week and exchanges and 2 days of sick companions. but we got to get out and work super hard a couple days this week! ! We got 9 lessons in on Thursday and 10 people showed up at church!! So many blessings for not much time to go work. but i love it here!! its also TRANSFER DAY!! so my cute companion, sister singleton transferred to hinigaran!!! and so did sister nanlabi!! But just to the other area in La Carlota hahah so we're still in the same house. But my new companion is Sister Regacho! She goes home in October and is from the Manilla area in the philippines. I am already excited to go work hard with her!!  the highlights of this week-  -Sister Remy was baptized on Saturday!! She was 40 minutes late so we were a little worried hahaha but she got up and bore her testimony ...

maayong aga sa inyo tanan what a week! its been SO BUSY. but so so good. and so so fast. we're starting the last week of the transfer today! A week from today is transfer day. usually i have a pretty good idea of whats gonna happen for transfer day, but right now, we have no clue hahah. we'll see!! the highlights of this week -we visited this woman that we've been teaching for a while now, and her husband joined the lesson! but we realized right after the opening prayer that he was VERY drunk and ended up giving us a full concert on his guitar in the middle of the lesson hahahah it was SO funny. he sang his wife some love songs that were not very appreciated on her end. he told us he wants to teach us next time. stay tuned -got Kraft MAC N CHEESE! it was SO good oh my goodness. my comp's mom sent her some and i just about died we all cried together it was so good -got interviewed by a general authority of the church!! we talked for like 25 minutes just abo...

maayong agaaa kamusta na kamo? this week has been super busy! but its been a good one!  the highlights-  -ended up sleeping in bacolod unexpectedly cause my cute companion was sick. wore the same outfit for 40 hours straight.  -sat in a little store for 2 and a half hours waiting for the results of a bunch of tests they did for sister nanlabi, and had a photoshoot. see pics below  -did exchanges in Hinigaran! I got to work with sister adams which was SO fun. except there was literally a COCKROACH INFESTATION in their house. im not even kidding i killed around 8 cockroaches that night and there was still plently flying and crawling around. me and sister adams had our brooms and flip flops and were throwing things at them it was quite a scene hahaha. but we made it out alive and when we woke up the next morning we couldn't see any!! so all is well  -made brownies in the microwave!! it was so exciting and definitely not as good as real brownies bu...
