kamusta kamo!!!! this week was a good week!!! the days keep going by faster and faster and its crazy every time friday comes around.  highlights of this week- -Sis Amataga sprained her ankle cause she went too hard in volleyball and so we got to leave the mtc gates!!! it was so exciting we got to ride in a car and go to the doctor wow it was so fun!! I think i probably had a lot more fun than she did though -I MET ELDER HOLLAND!!! AND ALL THE 12 APOSTLES CAME TO OUR DEVOTIONAL ON SUNDAY NIGHT IT WAS SO COOL (they are basically the coolest 12 people who kind of run our church and just being in the same room as them was so cool you could totally tell they were called of God wow) -we met our mission president!! the cutest little filipino man and his wife. they speak broken english so we could understand them!! but it made me so so excited to get to meet all the filipinos!!!  So this week was super exciting!! lots of fun things.  We leave the MTC and head ou...

kamusta kamo??? may ara ako maayo gid nga semano!  so im halfway done here at the provo mtc!! ive officially been here 3.5 weeks which is crazy. its going by so so fast! some highlights: -got stuck in the elevator again but whats new -taught my samoan companion the pledge of allegience (she was shocked to find out that george washington wasnt mentioned in it)  -got a flip phone cause i got called as a sister training leader and ive never been more excited until we found out every feature on it is blocked except calling the front desk sooo this week lots of exciting things have happened!! so when i got here 3 weeks ago, we joined a zone of missionaries headed to the philippines who had already been here for 3 weeks. so they all left us this last tuesday and wednesday to head to the field!! it was sad to see them all go but so exciting for them!! a lot of philippines visa's arent going through lately so only about half of them were able to go straight to the ...

Kamusta everybody!! So I've been here a full 9 days now which is crazy. It goes by really fast and really slow at the same time but its been a good week!! Some highlights: -Got stuck in the super sketchy elevator in our residance hall (which has been on my bucket list for a solid 7 years). it was only for like 2 minutes but all the other sisters were like freaking out but i was thriving. -Cleaned some toilets for an hour on wednesday for our service project and wore some super cute gloves and goggles cause supposedly we were dealing with chemicals that if they touched our skin it would burn through?? interesting -Got chick fil a catered on friday and literally started crying ive never been so happy basically things are going great over here!!! The language is getting easier. We teach a lesson every day fully in Illongo which is fun but can be stressful. Its sort of making sense now!! I love my district!! KAMUSTA!!! So I'm here at the Missionary Training Center! I got here Wednesday afternoon and I actually feel like ive been here for 12 years hahah the days are so long. But I'll be in Provo learning about how to be a missionary and learning Hiligaynon (or Illongo, as the filipinos call it) for the next 6 weeks!!  I've only been here 2 days but i actually feel like so much has happened i dont even remember everything! but as soon as I got here they took me straight to a classroom where my teachers started speaking illongo at like record speed and expecting us to like respond to them. needless to say we were all a bit confused. but we're learning! its really hard though. In Illongo, they don't have like a grammar system. Everything they say is based on the individual phrase so basically we just have to memorize all the phrases and eventually it will start to make sense they say. so thats a plus! so far it doesnt quite yet though hahaha.  we learn 35 words a ...
