Sarah's Mission to Bacolod Philippines

Hi everyone!!!  so the biggest news this week is that I HAVE A NEW COMPANION!!!  So basically every 6 weeks, we get a phone call saying if we are transferring to a different area! Because in every mission theres a ton of different areas that we go to work in. So usually you'll be assigned in a certain area for a couple transfers and then you'll move somewhere else. So we were dying all day yesterday waiting to hear about transfers, and finally at about 10 pm last night we got a call saying that Sister Melgaso would be transferring!! So she packed all night and then we woke up at 4:30 this morning to come to Bacolod and meet our new companions. So my companion is Filipino and seems super sweet!! She has only been out for six months so she is relatively new too, but im super excited for this transfer and to switch things up!! hello everyone!!! its been 5 weeks since i got to Old Sagay!! so so crazy. time goes by so fast here.  this was a good week!! Old Sagay is just the best. the people here are so so so nice. and loving and ah i just love them all. highlights of this week: - we were in the city one day this week for sis. melgaso's doctor appointment, and they had a 7/11!! oh it was so exciting. i got a slurpee and told sister melgaso all about july 11, free slurpee day. my fav day of the year. its the little things :,) - this week i realized how many stars you can see here!! I guess I never looked up before this week or something haha but its sooo pretty. so so many stars.  -yesterday a cute little filipino man climbed a tree and got us all coconuts so i drank coconut juice out of a coconut on the beach. life could be worse  -i started my 2nd journal this week which was exciting considering ive never finished a journal before in my life hahaha but i went back and was reading ...

maayong aga!!!!  maayo nga semana diri sa Old Sagay!!!  lots of fun things going on!! first off- MY SIS IS HOME FROM HER MISSION so good times over there in southlake.  highlights of this week-  -Tuesday we went on exchanges!! so we switched companions for the day! I was with Sister Ferreria who has been out 6 months!! i LOVE her. shes so awesome. except there was a HUGE storm on tuesday. so we were walking across this big river to get to someones house and the wind was so strong and the water was crazy. and our umbrellas couldnt handle the wind hahaha. we were SOAKING wet. i felt like i was in a movie hahaha. except if i was in a movie id probably have a hot shower waiting for me after and maybe a towel too. instead i had a big red bucket to come home to. so all is well over here :) -i saw a monkey this week!! it was SO CUTE  -remember how i said we have 3 weddings coming up for our investigators? well when i was going through all my clothes ...

Hello everybody!!!! wow what a week!! it feels like forever ago that i wrote last.  im doing well over here!! things have gotten so much easier and i definitely feel a lot more adjusted to the culture which is a blessing!! highlights of this week- -on tuesday we RODE A BOAT to district meeting!!! so once a week we meet with other missionaries and talk about our week and make goals on how we can improve as missionaries and such, but the elders in our district live in Himuga-an, which you have to take a boat to get to!! IT WAS SO FUN!!! i had a realization that i was on a boat in the middle of the phlippines islands in the ocean and decided i like the mission life -me and sister melgaso are practically cupid over here, cause THREE of our investigators are getting married. so as missionaries, we help them with all the paperwork and the church helps financially for marriages here! so we have been so busy getting all the paperwork finished. but im so excited cause they want ...
