Hi Everyone!!! So today is my 2 month mark on the mission!!! Crazy how fast time goes. 16 more to go :) This week has been so much better and everything is becoming so much easier to handle!!!  Some highlights of this week: -we taught in this little shack on the beach in the middle of a typhoon. it was actually so fun. everyone else was terrified but i love the rain and it just felt like a huge adventure i loved it. definitely a blessing that i love rain so much haha cause theres a lot of it here. -i met my zone this week!! theres 4 americans in my zone! so me and 3 elders. it was so nice to have someone who understood english hahah. -dogs are EVERYWHERE here. like actually everywhere. like you'll be walking down the street and theres just as many dogs as there are people. and then on Saturday, Eugene got baptized!! and in the middle of the service a dog just walked on in. i was so confused on how this dog even got inside the church building but nobody else seemed fazed s...

maayong aga everyone!!!! wow i made it!! so we flew to Bacolod last wednesday and went through 2 days of training and met our new companions and all headed to our areas!! so i got assigned in Old Sagay with my trainer. Its the northern most part of the island so we teach on the beach which is SO NICE!! ah its so pretty. i love the beach. but the poverty is so so crazy. the houses that we teach in and that these cute filipino's live in, are made out of cardboard and sticks. it is SO humbling being here. I had a few moments where we'd be sitting inside these homes and it would just hit me how insane it is. we are so so blessed.  here in Old Sagay, they speak a mixture of illongo and cebuano. so its been kinda challenging to try adn speak and understand everything because its not the language i learned in the mtc hahah but its slowly becoming easier!!  Sister Melgaso is my companion!! Shes filipino and so sweet. SHe doesnt speak a lot of english so its hard to commu...

i made it!!!! after 30 hours of travel time, we made it to the philippines mtc!!  the first thing we noticed when we walked out of the airport, is how amazingly hot it is. like holy cow i thought we were gonna melt. then we piled into cars that took us to the MTC where we've been since friday morning!! we head out to our different missions on tuesday night. so ill head to Bacolod and get my companion on Wednesday!! thats when it all actually begins. highlights of this week- -ive never eaten so much rice in my whole life. literally with breakfast lunch and dinner they stack our plate with rice. like piles and piles of it. ever had pancakes with rice on top? yeah me neither till yesterday -it rains ALL THE TIME. like 24/7. hasnt stopped since we got here. so basically we're just soaked all the time and my hair is literally a lions mane because of the humidity. so thats fun!! good thing i love the rain. but PERKS OF HUMIDITY- if my shirt is wrinkled, literally all i have...

My visa came through so I am going straight to the Philippines on Wednesday!!! Out of the 21 of us learning Hiligaynon, 9 people got temporarily reassigned while they wait for their visas to come through. So it has been a crazy week waiting to find out. Some people found out Tuesday about their reassignments, but everyone who is going straight to the Phlippines found out yesterday that our visas came through!! So we've all been super excited and also super sad that we can't all go together :( But we've all just been trusting that wherever we were to end up, is where we are supposed to be for a specific reason!! So its been good.  Some highlights of the week- - Got to stay up an extra hour on the fourth of july to watch fireworks!!! honestly best day of the mish so far - got to skype th...
