Hi everyone!!!

so the biggest news this week is that I HAVE A NEW COMPANION!!!  So basically every 6 weeks, we get a phone call saying if we are transferring to a different area! Because in every mission theres a ton of different areas that we go to work in. So usually you'll be assigned in a certain area for a couple transfers and then you'll move somewhere else. So we were dying all day yesterday waiting to hear about transfers, and finally at about 10 pm last night we got a call saying that Sister Melgaso would be transferring!! So she packed all night and then we woke up at 4:30 this morning to come to Bacolod and meet our new companions.

So my companion is Filipino and seems super sweet!! She has only been out for six months so she is relatively new too, but im super excited for this transfer and to switch things up!! We're still working in Old Sagay which im SO thankful for!! i LOVE old sagay and all the people there.

Favorite parts of the week-
-We got a TOASTER!! oh it was so exciting.
-we had our 3 weddings on friday!! AH seriously happiest day of my whole mission i think. there were times i just wanted to cry of joy. i curled their hair and me and sister melgaso did their makeup and they were so so so grateful. oh it was the cutest thing ever. and they were so happy!! oh it was so so awesome.

This week has been so eventful!!

so on tuesday I worked in Talisay again which was SO fun!! Sister Melgaso had meetings so we were on exchanges! Although Talisay is a more wealthy area in the Phlippines, so every appointment we had, the people gave us food to eat which was SO nice because a lot of them didnt have a lot, but lemme tell ya. a girl can only eat so much rice. i think by our 4th appointment i was about ready to die. so that was exciting hahaha.

and then Wednesday Elder Te from the Quorum of the Seventy came and trained us for 6 hours!! Before the mission if someone would have told me that I would be sitting getting training for 6 hours straight i probably wouldve passed, but lemme tell ya. it was so so good. part of it was definitely that all we did was sit there in an air conditioned room. a very happy change :)

but he actually had some really great insight that I loved!! He talked about how in the Bible, Joshua had a similar experience to Moses, where he crossed the water on dry ground. Although for him, he couldnt just command that it part. He had to take a few steps into the water until the soles of his shoes were wet, and thats when the miracle happened. So he had to excercise his faith before he was able to see the reward. It reminded me of a quote that says, "Faith is taking a few steps into the dark before we're shown the light" which I think I have totally experienced here in the Philippines. Missions are the farthest thing from easy but if I just show my faith, all things become easier. And I totally know that God is helping me. There are some days where I just think to myself "what on earth am i doing in the philippines" but then I think of all the ways that I have been blessed since being here and my attitude totally changes.

Im super excited for this next transfer!! The past few days have been kind of stressful knowing that this day was coming but I am super excited to work in Old Sagay again for the next 6 weeks at least!!!

Palangga ko kamo!! nagapasalamat ako para sa tanan diri sa pilipinas kag tanan nga mga tawo. salamat gid para sa tanan nga mga pagpangamuyo!!

Sister Johnson

m not training!! im not sure where they all got this information but my comp has been here for about 6 months!! so shes pretty new too. but im in bacolod right now! we got the call from the ap's at 10 last night so we woke up at 4:30 this morning and got on the bus here for the meetings. shes filipino! she seems nice. im actually not with her right now. we're on splits casue sis melgaso and i still have to finish some marriage paper stuff with the office elders. so i think we're meeting back up with them tonight to go back to sagay.
