hi everyone!!! another week!! so crazy. time is such a weird thing on the mission. it goes by so so fast but also so so slow at the same time hahah. but this week has been SO good!!!
some highlights-
-I DREAMED IN ILLONGO. so that was exciting
-we were teaching a family the other day on the beach and the water was especially blue that day and it just made me realize what a cool opportunity this is. life isnt bad when you spend half your day every day talking about Christ on the beach
-there was a HUGE storm last night. oh it was so fun. we dont have windows on our house, just screens since theres no air conditioning so the whole house just smelled like rain and it was so fun wow i love storms
life is good over here!! ive started thinking of all the ways ive been blessed since being here and it has helped me SO much. i have just become so so much happier here and have really started to love my time here. the philippines is SUCH a special place.
One cool experience this week!! One of our investigators, Carlos, has been trying to quit smoking for his baptism!! We talked with him at the beginning of this week about his goal to stop and he REALLY wanted to get baptized this coming week. so we told him if he was to do that, he would have to stop smoking within the next couple days becasue theres a set amount of time that investigators have to have not smoked for before they can get baptized. and so that very day, he threw away all his cigarettes and has not smoked one since. and he has been throwing up and so so sick because of it, but he says it is all worth it if he can just be baptized. it was so so cool to see. he really is super awesome. i am so so excited for him.
and then the other day we went to go visit the Rosatasi family!! They're members who are just the best. But Sister Rosatasi was way sick when we got there and just bundled up in hats and blankets and laying on the ground becasue they dont have a bed. we just sat with her and sang songs with her and shared a message about how God can help us in trials. and i think in that moment i felt so so much love for the filipino people. thats when i realized how special of an opportunity this is. we all just cried together and talked about the help that we've recieved through our trials and it was so so special. the people here are the most empathetic, genuine, kind, Christlike people that I have ever met. Who knows how i got so lucky to be able to spend 18 months living with them.
life is good here!! im happy and pumped to go and do laundry with our new washing machine today :)) its the little things
miss you all and love you!! have a good week!!!
