November 4, 2018 Santa Fe

hello!!!!
isa pa ka semana diri sa Santa Fe!! 
THIS WEEK I HIT 5 MONTHS WHICH IS CRAAAAZYYYY. time flies lemme tell ya.

what a week!!
-it was HALLOWEEN!!! we celebrated big time lemme tell ya. i dressed up as sister bergman and she was me and it was a good time. in the philippines they dont celebrate halloween, but they call it All Saints Day. So they all celebrate their ancestors who have died and they all throw parties at the cemetery. with tons of food and music and its way fun supposedly. we weren't allowed to go hahah our curfew got changed to 6 pm that day. 
-but LEMME TELL YA ABOUT THE BIGGEST SPIDER IVE SEEN IN MY WHOLE LIFE. literally larger than my face im not even kidding. but dont worry me and sister bergman cornered it in the bathroom and had our bottles of poison and after lots of screaming, we got it. we just needed something to spice up halloween i guess. 
-we found out the office elders play basketball with President Sumagpao every monday morning, and we totally crashed this morning. lets say everyone was a little surprised to see us, especially president, but you KNOW we balled it up with him in the pouring rain this morning. gotta love it

but yeah its been a good week!!!
this week taytay Wilfredo was baptized!! He is the cutest little 65 year old man who reminds me so much of my grandpa geigle. he was so so excited and thanked us so many times for helping learn more about Jesus Christ. He is so so awesome.

Everyone we are teaching seems to just have way hard trials in their lives. We met a 19 year old boy the other day named Brian. We were walking out of this one area, and he came chasing after us on his bike and asked when we were going to come back because he wanted to listen. we started teaching him and realized his dad actually passed away a few weeks ago and he is now living alone with his grandma who is 95 and taking care of her. He is just really really struggling, but you would have NO idea unless he started talking about it. He is just moving forward with his life with hope. So so awesome. but he was so happy to hear that this gospel is all about families and ways to live with our families in the next life too!! Its so hard to see so many people here dealing with such hard things. Death, strokes, cancer, starvation, literally i feel like we have seen so many families with such hard trials. but they all just move forward!! its so so inspiring to see. ah i just love them all

but i have a favorite phrase in the Book of Mormon in 2nd Nephi. it says in chapter 2 verse 2, the Lord will "consecrate thine afflictions for thy gain." So all the trials and all the problems that we face in our life, we will gain something from them. God doesn't just give us trials for fun. There is a reason behind everything we experience in this life!! And if we base our life off of this knowledge, everything becomes easier as we develop more trust in God and His plan for us. 

Im loving life over here!! I hope things are going well over there and i miss and love you all!!!

hello everyone!!! what a week!!! highlights: -on wednesday, we had MISSION WIDE CLEANING DAY!!! so all the missionaries in Bacolod mission spent the entire day cleaning their apartments. so from 7:30 am to 5 pm, all we did was clean. and lemme tell ya. i killed species of bugs that i didnt even know existed and discovered that all the lizards lay their eggs behind my bookshelf!! that was a fun discovery.  -we found AMERICAN FOOD. oh my goodness. (see the pic below.) i got some pasta and french fries and it was the happiest meal. sister nanlabi said we needed to take a picture of our food for all our friends to guess whos meal was the americans and whos was the filipino's hahaha. no rice for this american!!! -Carlos was baptized on Sunday morning!! with his two nephews too. oh it was so happy. he had been trying to stop smoking for so long for this day and seeing him so happy just made me want to cry. so so happy for him. we had some cool experiences this week!! so on ...

wow what a week!!!  i just wanna start out by sending all my love to the Tucker family and everyone else who is struggling from loss of their cute mom. All my prayers are being sent in that direction and i wish i could be there with all my heart. But even from far away, I feel a lot of peace from God's plan for us and I know that He is with us in all of our trials and He can literally carry us through. This is one lesson I have really learned since being here. It is really hard to see in the moment sometimes, but God's plan is divine and was created since the world began. He knows us better than we know ourselves and he will push us to our limits, but He will give us the strength to handle all things that we experience!! and i love you all!! but this week was quite a week over here in the Philippines!! the highlight of the week- -this week me and Sister Behrends were tricked into eating Soup #5. look it up if you wanna know what that is. lets just say it was a...

February 17, 2019 Santa Fe

MAAYONG AGA SA INYO TANAN sorry this will be a short email this week!!! but we just heard that we can skype our families now??? this is wild we're all in shock over here. but im excited!!! i miss those people life is so good over here!! the trio life is definitely different but fun!! sister bise and baczuk are both awesome and im pumped for the next 5 weeks.  we taught this woman named MikMik this week who I just love. we've been teaching her forever. her daughter was in teh hospital for dengue last week for 8 days, and then this week her son got hit by a car and it just seems like they're hit by trial after trial. (luckily he only fractured his arm) but she came to church yesterday and told us that god gives people trials to see how they'll act in the midst of them, and shes using them to come closer to Christ. i just love these people and their faith even when things are so hard.  I LOVE YOU ALL AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY AND EARLY ...
