September 29, 2019 Kabankalan Second

hi everyone!!!
today means ive officially been a missionary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints for 16 MONTHS! thats so crazy. time is so fast!! but ive loved every second. 

This has been a good week! We did lots of fun things 
-tried duck for the first time. it was actually way good 10/10
-went finding at the plaza in Kabankalan where theres always SO many people just hanging out and met this men who told me that we're soulmates. i guess hes been single for so many years cause hes been waiting to find his soulmate. its me apparently. love that
-had stake conference in binalbagan on sunday! it was SO packed so all us missionaries ended up sitting on the floor in the back for 2 hours. good times
-tried this ice cream place and it was like legit american ice cream!! except mine ended up spilled all over me. in the process of trying to help give me napkins, sister velasco spilt hers all over her too hahah. kaluoy gid

basically its been a wild week but a good one! we met the cutest little Down Syndrome girl ever. She's 17 and named Theresa! We just started talking with her and found out about her family and her favorite colors and what she likes to do. she was so happy. afterwards her mom came over and introduced herself to us and just thanked us for being so loving to her daughter. she wants us to come back and visit their family. as missionaries, our purpose is just to share the love of God with other people! and if we're doing that first, doors will open to share the message of the restored Gospel with others. i love being a missionary. i never want it to end.

and GENERAL CONF IS THIS WEEKEND! on the mission we all say that general conference is better than christmas hahaha. we don't get to watch it until the next weekend cause of the time difference but we'll be thinking of it this weekend in america!! im pumped

hello everyone!!! what a week!!! highlights: -on wednesday, we had MISSION WIDE CLEANING DAY!!! so all the missionaries in Bacolod mission spent the entire day cleaning their apartments. so from 7:30 am to 5 pm, all we did was clean. and lemme tell ya. i killed species of bugs that i didnt even know existed and discovered that all the lizards lay their eggs behind my bookshelf!! that was a fun discovery.  -we found AMERICAN FOOD. oh my goodness. (see the pic below.) i got some pasta and french fries and it was the happiest meal. sister nanlabi said we needed to take a picture of our food for all our friends to guess whos meal was the americans and whos was the filipino's hahaha. no rice for this american!!! -Carlos was baptized on Sunday morning!! with his two nephews too. oh it was so happy. he had been trying to stop smoking for so long for this day and seeing him so happy just made me want to cry. so so happy for him. we had some cool experiences this week!! so on ...

wow what a week!!!  i just wanna start out by sending all my love to the Tucker family and everyone else who is struggling from loss of their cute mom. All my prayers are being sent in that direction and i wish i could be there with all my heart. But even from far away, I feel a lot of peace from God's plan for us and I know that He is with us in all of our trials and He can literally carry us through. This is one lesson I have really learned since being here. It is really hard to see in the moment sometimes, but God's plan is divine and was created since the world began. He knows us better than we know ourselves and he will push us to our limits, but He will give us the strength to handle all things that we experience!! and i love you all!! but this week was quite a week over here in the Philippines!! the highlight of the week- -this week me and Sister Behrends were tricked into eating Soup #5. look it up if you wanna know what that is. lets just say it was a...

February 17, 2019 Santa Fe

MAAYONG AGA SA INYO TANAN sorry this will be a short email this week!!! but we just heard that we can skype our families now??? this is wild we're all in shock over here. but im excited!!! i miss those people life is so good over here!! the trio life is definitely different but fun!! sister bise and baczuk are both awesome and im pumped for the next 5 weeks.  we taught this woman named MikMik this week who I just love. we've been teaching her forever. her daughter was in teh hospital for dengue last week for 8 days, and then this week her son got hit by a car and it just seems like they're hit by trial after trial. (luckily he only fractured his arm) but she came to church yesterday and told us that god gives people trials to see how they'll act in the midst of them, and shes using them to come closer to Christ. i just love these people and their faith even when things are so hard.  I LOVE YOU ALL AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY AND EARLY ...
