June 29. 2018 Provo MTC

kamusta kamo!!!!

this week was a good week!!! the days keep going by faster and faster and its crazy every time friday comes around. 

highlights of this week-
-Sis Amataga sprained her ankle cause she went too hard in volleyball and so we got to leave the mtc gates!!! it was so exciting we got to ride in a car and go to the doctor wow it was so fun!! I think i probably had a lot more fun than she did though
-I MET ELDER HOLLAND!!! AND ALL THE 12 APOSTLES CAME TO OUR DEVOTIONAL ON SUNDAY NIGHT IT WAS SO COOL (they are basically the coolest 12 people who kind of run our church and just being in the same room as them was so cool you could totally tell they were called of God wow)
-we met our mission president!! the cutest little filipino man and his wife. they speak broken english so we could understand them!! but it made me so so excited to get to meet all the filipinos!!! 

So this week was super exciting!! lots of fun things. 
We leave the MTC and head out in a week and a half!! If our visas come through, we will leave on the 11th probably. If not, we may leave to our reassignment the 9th or 10th. But we wont know about that until next thursday proabably. we're all dying to know over here. 

The language is coming so much easier!! for the last 2 weeks we spend here, we have to speak 100% illongo so no more english over here!!! we started that on monday. its honestly not as hard as we all thought it would be!! although we are so much quieter when we have to speak 100% illongo cause a lot of us figured out its so much easier to just go mute than to try and form sentences that make sense lolol

last night our teacher showed us a ton of pictures of the philippines and told stories from his mission and it was so cool to know that im going to be there in a week and a half (hopefully). It was so humbling to just see all the pictures and made it so much easier to be positive about bucket showers and no washing machines knowing that these people live like this every single day and are some of the happiest people!! 

im doing well over here and cant believe i only have one more week to email from provo!!!

hello everyone!!! what a week!!! highlights: -on wednesday, we had MISSION WIDE CLEANING DAY!!! so all the missionaries in Bacolod mission spent the entire day cleaning their apartments. so from 7:30 am to 5 pm, all we did was clean. and lemme tell ya. i killed species of bugs that i didnt even know existed and discovered that all the lizards lay their eggs behind my bookshelf!! that was a fun discovery.  -we found AMERICAN FOOD. oh my goodness. (see the pic below.) i got some pasta and french fries and it was the happiest meal. sister nanlabi said we needed to take a picture of our food for all our friends to guess whos meal was the americans and whos was the filipino's hahaha. no rice for this american!!! -Carlos was baptized on Sunday morning!! with his two nephews too. oh it was so happy. he had been trying to stop smoking for so long for this day and seeing him so happy just made me want to cry. so so happy for him. we had some cool experiences this week!! so on ...

wow what a week!!!  i just wanna start out by sending all my love to the Tucker family and everyone else who is struggling from loss of their cute mom. All my prayers are being sent in that direction and i wish i could be there with all my heart. But even from far away, I feel a lot of peace from God's plan for us and I know that He is with us in all of our trials and He can literally carry us through. This is one lesson I have really learned since being here. It is really hard to see in the moment sometimes, but God's plan is divine and was created since the world began. February 17, 2019 Santa Fe

MAAYONG AGA SA INYO TANAN sorry this will be a short email this week!!! but we just heard that we can skype our families now??? this is wild we're all in shock over here. but im excited!!! i miss those people life is so good over here!! the trio life is definitely different but fun!! sister bise and baczuk are both awesome and im pumped for the next 5 weeks.  we taught this woman named MikMik this week who I just love. we've been teaching her forever. her daughter was in teh hospital for dengue last week for 8 days, and then this week her son got hit by a car and it just seems like they're hit by trial after trial. (luckily he only fractured his arm) but she came to church yesterday and told us that god gives people trials to see how they'll act in the midst of them, and shes using them to come closer to Christ. i just love these people and their faith even when things are so hard.  I LOVE YOU ALL AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY AND EARLY ...
