October 1, 2018 Old Sagay

Hello everyone!!!!
wow its already the last week of this transfer!! time really does fly over here. and yesterday i hit my 4 month mark!! so so crazy. 

the highlights of this week-
-we found PIZZA!!! yes, even in the philippines islands you can find a pizza place. we may have had to go to a different city and pay a whole ton of money for it, but it just made it all the better. life is good 
-this past week was family week!! its a holiday over here where for a week you celebrate families! and then on Saturday we had a whole big celebration at the church. it was so fun!! there was tons of games and a parade and we had matching tshirts and it was way fun. and since our families are way far away, a bunch of the filipino's here told us that we were there family and it was way sweet.

this week during our studies, a cute little boy came and knocked on our door and asked for money for his basketball team because they couldnt afford things like tennis shoes and jerseys and stuff like that. we arent allowed to give away money because they dont want for us to be seen as a money source, but i wanted so badly to help this cute little boy!! it made me think of my cute little brothers and their love of basketball and if their basketball teams couldnt afford shoes or a jersey or a ball to play with. every day i realize how incredibly blessed we are. i hope i never forget these feelings and are able to live with this change in perspective every single day. the problems i faced at home before i left seem so so insignificant now. im so grateful for this experience. i dont think theres anything else in the world that would be as eye opening and life changing as these experiences. 

im doing well over here!! time keeps flying. who knows where ill be a week from now! I would love to have another transfer here in Old Sagay with SIster Nanlabi and we've been praying for no transfers hahah but we'll see what God's plan is for us!!!

hello everyone!!! what a week!!! highlights: -on wednesday, we had MISSION WIDE CLEANING DAY!!! so all the missionaries in Bacolod mission spent the entire day cleaning their apartments. so from 7:30 am to 5 pm, all we did was clean. and lemme tell ya. i killed species of bugs that i didnt even know existed and discovered that all the lizards lay their eggs behind my bookshelf!! that was a fun discovery.  -we found AMERICAN FOOD. oh my goodness. (see the pic below.) i got some pasta and french fries and it was the happiest meal. sister nanlabi said we needed to take a picture of our food for all our friends to guess whos meal was the americans and whos was the filipino's hahaha. no rice for this american!!! -Carlos was baptized on Sunday morning!! with his two nephews too. oh it was so happy. he had been trying to stop smoking for so long for this day and seeing him so happy just made me want to cry. so so happy for him. we had some cool experiences this week!! so on ...

wow what a week!!!  i just wanna start out by sending all my love to the Tucker family and everyone else who is struggling from loss of their cute mom. All my prayers are being sent in that direction and i wish i could be there with all my heart. But even from far away, I feel a lot of peace from God's plan for us and I know that He is with us in all of our trials and He can literally carry us through. This is one lesson I have really learned since being here. It is really hard to see in the moment sometimes, but God's plan is divine and was created since the world began. February 17, 2019 Santa Fe

MAAYONG AGA SA INYO TANAN sorry this will be a short email this week!!! but we just heard that we can skype our families now??? this is wild we're all in shock over here. but im excited!!! i miss those people life is so good over here!! the trio life is definitely different but fun!! sister bise and baczuk are both awesome and im pumped for the next 5 weeks.  we taught this woman named MikMik this week who I just love. we've been teaching her forever. her daughter was in teh hospital for dengue last week for 8 days, and then this week her son got hit by a car and it just seems like they're hit by trial after trial. (luckily he only fractured his arm) but she came to church yesterday and told us that god gives people trials to see how they'll act in the midst of them, and shes using them to come closer to Christ. i just love these people and their faith even when things are so hard.  I LOVE YOU ALL AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY AND EARLY ...
