December 30, 2018 Santa Fe

HELLO!!!

first off- HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO MY BIG SISTER MANDI YAAYAYYAY shes 21 watch out!!!! but who's still farther along in school ;))) everyone go celebrate her yayayy she deserves it!!!

wow SO much has happened this week holy cow

first off, I GOT A NEW COMP!!! it was crazy and really unexpected cause i had been in the area longer but sister behrends transferred this morning and sister hopkins moved in!!! im so so excited shes from utah and the best already so IM PUMPED

the highlights-
-GOT TO SKYPE THE FAM FOR CHRISTMAS YAYAYAY happy times love those cute people
-had a checkers tournament on christmas. can you think of a more festive thing? i cant
-totally acted out the nativity with our district on christmas with costumes and all. havent seen a better portrayal of Mary and Joseph than the one given by elder young and elder higginson
-hit my 7 month mark in the mission yesterday!!! wild time flies
-did exchanges with sister clarke and there were little children running around with toy guns and we both thought they were real and ended up having to sprint for our lives and turns out they were fake hahahah good times

lots of really cool things happened this week!! 
first off christmas!!! we got to go to my favorite place ever (los tres amigos- a legit mexican restaurant) and help serve food to people who really didnt have money for a christmas!! and it was so so so incredible. we had all come from skyping our families so we were all kinda sad and down for a bit but then all these people started showing up and we gave them all a big christmas dinner and 5 kilos of rice to take home and gave each of the kids a present!! and lemme tell ya we were all just crying watchign these cute kids get their presents (and for some of them- literally the first present they have gotten in their lives) and it just made me have such a love for the people here. honestly this may have been the best christmas of my life, even though i am far from home, just because of the joy and tears of these cute people here when they got to experience christmas. so so awesome. 

then there was this cute little woman. oh this just broke my heart!! we were walking around going somewhere and she came up to us and asked us to buy her bag from her so that she would have enough money to afford the transportation to get home. and holy cow my heart just broke!! everyday i get reminded how incredibly blessed i have been in my life. but the big message that we teach every day is that through Christ we can be strengthened!! One thing i heard recently that i really liked, was "dont pray for ease but pray for strength." God's not gonna take away our trials but He will strengthen us in them!! 

I love the mission more every day and im way pumped for this coming transfer and to celebrate new years!!!! love and miss you all!!

hello everyone!!! what a week!!! highlights: -on wednesday, we had MISSION WIDE CLEANING DAY!!! so all the missionaries in Bacolod mission spent the entire day cleaning their apartments. so from 7:30 am to 5 pm, all we did was clean. and lemme tell ya. i killed species of bugs that i didnt even know existed and discovered that all the lizards lay their eggs behind my bookshelf!! that was a fun discovery.  -we found AMERICAN FOOD. oh my goodness. (see the pic below.) i got some pasta and french fries and it was the happiest meal. sister nanlabi said we needed to take a picture of our food for all our friends to guess whos meal was the americans and whos was the filipino's hahaha. no rice for this american!!! -Carlos was baptized on Sunday morning!! with his two nephews too. oh it was so happy. he had been trying to stop smoking for so long for this day and seeing him so happy just made me want to cry. so so happy for him. we had some cool experiences this week!! so on ...

wow what a week!!!  i just wanna start out by sending all my love to the Tucker family and everyone else who is struggling from loss of their cute mom. All my prayers are being sent in that direction and i wish i could be there with all my heart. But even from far away, I feel a lot of peace from God's plan for us and I know that He is with us in all of our trials and He can literally carry us through. This is one lesson I have really learned since being here. It is really hard to see in the moment sometimes, but God's plan is divine and was created since the world began. He knows us better than we know ourselves and he will push us to our limits, but He will give us the strength to handle all things that we experience!! and i love you all!! but this week was quite a week over here in the Philippines!! the highlight of the week- -this week me and Sister Behrends were tricked into eating Soup #5. look it up if you wanna know what that is. lets just say it was a...

February 17, 2019 Santa Fe

MAAYONG AGA SA INYO TANAN sorry this will be a short email this week!!! but we just heard that we can skype our families now??? this is wild we're all in shock over here. but im excited!!! i miss those people life is so good over here!! the trio life is definitely different but fun!! sister bise and baczuk are both awesome and im pumped for the next 5 weeks.  we taught this woman named MikMik this week who I just love. we've been teaching her forever. her daughter was in teh hospital for dengue last week for 8 days, and then this week her son got hit by a car and it just seems like they're hit by trial after trial. (luckily he only fractured his arm) but she came to church yesterday and told us that god gives people trials to see how they'll act in the midst of them, and shes using them to come closer to Christ. i just love these people and their faith even when things are so hard.  I LOVE YOU ALL AND HAVE A GOOD WEEK HAPPY LATE VALENTINES DAY AND EARLY ...
