September 2, 2019 Kabankalan First
hi friends!! i can't believe its the last week of the transfer already! time flies. we'll know saturday night about transfers and whats gonna happen to us over here in Kabankalan!
also HAPPY SEPTEMBER! in the philippines they call Sept-Dec the "ber months." And september 1 is when they start celebrating the christmas season! so we've already heard christmas music playing while walking down the streets and have already sung christmas music in church ahhaha. i love this country
and also me and sister amataga hit 15 months last week. crazy. we celebrated with some macdonalds and wrote each other congratulations cards hahah. we talked about how when we had just gotten here we never thought we'd make it this far hahah. 15 months wouldve seemed so far away. but time is so fast!!
this week we were walking down the street and saw these cute little grandma and grandpas cleaning up their front yard, which was actually a literal jungle. so we spent about an hour and a half helping them clean their yard and learning about their family and their grandchildren! After we left, she just hugged us with tears in her eyes and thanked us for helping them. It reminded me of Acts 10:38 where is says that Jesus Christ "went about doing good" while He was here on earth. I love studying about Christs life and the things He did! We have been trying to implement all of it and do what He would do if He was here so we can become better representatives of Him. Life is goood
we met a lot of really awesome people this week. we started teaching this family! The Rosalia family! Melissa and Jubani, and their 6 sons! Sister Melissa said she has been so confused lately because she hasn't gone to church in 3 years. And just lately she's started thinking about going back, but she doesn't know where she should go because all the churches say that they are the true one, but she doesn't know where the actual true one is! we shared our message about how Christ established His church on the earth, and it was lost after He and His apostles died. And how it was restored to the earth through a living prophet! And we invited her to pray to find out for herself if it is true. We tell everyone that we don't want them just to believe us because we said so, but we want them to recieve an answer from Heavenly Father if it is true, or if it is not! We are so excited for their cute family.
Life is good over here! have a good week everyone!
